Robert Hamilton joined the firms’ partnership in 2000. He has extensive jury trial experience and has tried cases in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Santa Clara, Placer, Butte and Los Angeles Counties.
Mr. Hamilton represents clients in construction defect cases and professional malpractice claims and also has significant experience in complex multi-party mass disaster losses as well as environmental & pollution claims. Additionally, he also has handled matters involving personal injury, sexual misconduct and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In addition to his trial work, Mr. Hamilton has a thriving mediation practice and has mediated hundreds of cases throughout California. He mediates a wide range of disputes, primarily focusing on professional negligence, construction defects and personal injury matters. Mr. Hamilton acted as Special Master in construction defect cases, a Judge Pro Tem with San Francisco Superior Court and presently serves as an ADR panelist in Contra Costa and San Mateo Counties.
Mr. Hamilton is a 1979 magna cum laude graduate of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated in 1984 from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he received the American Board of Trial Advocates Award for Outstanding Achievement in Trial Advocacy.
He enjoys the very highest Martindale-Hubbell rating awarded to individual attorneys (AV) and has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer.
Mr. Hamilton is married with three daughters and has been a Youth Basketball coach for over 10 years. Mr. Hamilton has also completed three marathons, including the New York City Marathon.
